Moscow, Russia, 13/01/2013. Russian police guard a skip marked “for garbage” that has been filled with portraits of President Vladimir Putin and other Russian politicians. Thousands of opposition protesters carried posters of President Vladimir Putin and members of the Russian parliament with the word “Shame” written in red at a protest called the March Against The Scoundrels. The protest was against the new law banning the adoption of Russian children by Americans, widely seen as a response to the recently passed USA Magnitsky Act.

as it happens Jeremy, just going through some old bromides when I found a pic of PM Major meeting and greeting some Russian Premier or whatever in No10 about 1992-3-4….straight up and down meet and greet pic….but in the background lurking in the shadows is Putin when he must have been part of the KGB delegation….no wonder I was bollocked ( by No 10 press people ) for putting on a wide lens which included the Russian spook…I only actually wanted to get a portrait of Churchill into the frame…..
